President Duterte warns worse terror attack to happen in the country 

DAVAO CITY, Philippines, Dec. 6 – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte warned Friday of worst terrorism problem in the country’s history as authorities placed the nation in terror alert level 3.

“Nakikita naming in the next two three years. Bantay kayo,” Duterte said over the weekend during the culmination of Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group Motorcycle-riding course in Davao City.

“We cannot wage war against our own people and you cannot build the government over the bones of the soldiers and the rebels,” he added.

The President said the country is free with insurgencies with the New Peoples Army but the problem the Moro rebels.

“I hope to talk to them eventualy because I do not want war. We will talk. Hindi naman sana ma offend ang military. Mapatay mo yang lahat ng kaharap mo wala rin. It has been going on for so many years,” the President said.

On Wednesday in Butig, Lanao del Sur where he visited troops fighting against Maute group, the President warned ISIS-linked Maute group to give up peacefully, or face a “harsher” military response.

The Maute group that took over the town of Butig twice, has been blamed for the September bombing that left 15 dead in President Duterte’s hometown of Davao City, and for a purported bomb attempt near the US Embassy in Manila this week.  The President has linked the group to ISIS militants waging war elsewhere in the world.


Earlier, the police Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said the entire country has been placed under terror alert level 3 following a failed bomb attack near the US Embassy in Manila. (End)
